Colegio Luz y Vida es una institución privada dedicada a proveer una educación bilingüe (Ixil/Español), que se basa en principales cristianos, respeto para la cultura Ixil, y solidaridad de comunidad.

CLV provee instrucción para clases de pre-premaria al sexto grado. Todos los maestros son certificados y varios siguen su segunda diploma en la universidad mientras enseñan de tiempo completo en el colegio. Enseñanza bíblica es incorporada en el plan de estudios por medio de obras prácticas como cuidar la huerta del colegio y proyectos de reciclaje. Los maestros son dedicados a desarollar y aumentar el currículo de estudios de lenguas, matemáticas, ciencias, deportes, y música. El personal del colegio fomenta respeto para el vestido, tejido y comida Ixil para fortalecer no solo sus estudiantes pero tambien la comunidad en conjunto.

Light and Life is a private institution dedicated to providing a bilingual (Ixil/Spanish) education rooted in Christian principles, respect for Ixil culture, and community solidarity.

LLS has grown from one 1st grade class to classes of grades K-6. Each grade is taught by a certified teacher, several of whom are continuing their own education while working full time at the school. Biblical teaching is incorporated into the academic curriculum and through practical efforts such as taking care of the school garden and recycling projects. The teachers are dedicated to continually develop and improve the school’s curriculum of language arts, math, science, sports and music. They foster respect for the Ixil clothing, weaving and local food to strengthen not only their students, but the community as a whole.
